McAllen Texas - A Florida woman awaits extradition and two boys have been turned over to Texas Child Protective Services after US customs and Border Protection detained the woman officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge on an outstanding kidnapping warrant.

CBP spokesman Eduardo Perez says agents stopped 25 year old Iris Sandoval of Gibonsonton, Fla., Monday when a database revealed the November 2008 parental kidnapping warrant from the Hidalgo County Sheriff Office.

Hidalgo Police Capt. Robert Vela says the boys, ages 7 and 8 years old, were turned over to Child Protective Services Monday Night.  Sandoval was being held at the Hidalgo County Jail in Edinburg awaiting return to Florida.

A sheriff's spokesman didn't return a call for comment Tuesday.

So wonderful that the system can work and that these boys will not just disappear into Mexico.   Why can't this be the norm instead of an anomaly.  Happy for Dad and the boys.  Great job by the border patrol and Customs.

Wonder how many more got through while they were all detaining this one person?

It sounds like the reason she was arrested was because she tried to enter the US from Mexico. I've seen that happen a few times.

Yeah, it's interesting how they kind of gloss over whether or not she was entering or leaving Mexico.

There are very few checks when someone leaves the United States, but we do extensive checks for people entering the country.

One of the big claims for why we don't have Exit Controls at our borders is that there's "just too many people," which I always think is retarded.  We have just as many people coming into the US as we do leaving but somehow we can check them coming in but can't handle checking people that are leaving?
