Hoje com 11 anos, a criança é alvo de uma briga judicial que parece longe de terminar. O caso se acirrou em 2008, após a morte de sua mãe, a estilista Bruna Bianchi, quando Sean passou a ser criado pelo pai adotivo e pelos avós. Seu pai biológico, o americano David Goldman, que já tentava reaver sua guarda desde 2004, quando Bruna deixou os EUA e pediu o divórcio, entrou com um processo na Justiça americana.
