When Jennifer Lopez (not the singer) abducted her children to Mexico, who also just so happened to be the grandchildren of U.S. Rep. Gary Miller, R-Orange County the FBI worked closely with Mexican law enforcement to find the children.  Nonetheless, by moving around constantly the abductor and her new husband were able to evade detection for 3 and a half years.

All that changed on August 10th when law enforcement located the mother and children in Mexico and detained them and, miraculously, within 48 hours transferred the mother to a Los Angeles jail on $500,000 bail where she is now facing state charges of “depriving custody in violation of a court order" and returned the children to their father.

It is my belief, and has always been my belief, that IF our government gave a d@mn, all of your kids would have long been home.  This article just goes to prove my belief.  It had to take something happening to one of our elected officials grandchildren to get action.  Give me a flippin' break!   :madgo

Ireland asked for an article 15 declaration ...they got one.  Than they asked for an affidavit of law, they got one of them also, that ruled in my requests favor.  Now they tell me he will be seen by a psych and have his wishes heard and a hearing I must attend Oct 21st 2011 .
I thought the Hague treaty was if the child's homestate was his jurisdiction and the court having jurisdiction said the removal was wrong that the child would be returned within 6weeks not make the child choose between his mother and father. And for the USA to let it happen just shows you how much these politicians really  give a $hit .

This is exactly like Carlos' case, Mexico and all, except that in this case Sage was located very soon after being kidnapped, when the turmoil surrounding the case now could have been avoided with a swift resolution IN SAGE'S BEST INTEREST!!  These children are in Mexico for 3.5 years and it takes less than a week to have the mother arrested when she's found...we need to highlight this enormous discrepancy in treatment of "celebrity" cases and those of the rest of us who also need the help of our government to bring our children home!

While I am very happy that the children have been found and returned to the U.S., I was waiting for this to happen to one of our government officials.  And just like I thought, our wonderful government officials acted with HASTE and got the job done.  What a bunch of hypercrites!  I would like to throw this in their faces.

Man o man. This is goign to open up a can of worms and stir up a lot of trouble for congress. The media should be all over this and asking them how is it you can go in and arrest ans seize these children for this congressman but you can't do it for an ordinary everyday citizen who has provenm his case over and over? I hope this makes David Goldman sick. Sick to know he lost 5 years for no other reason than no one WANTED to do anything. Not that something couldn't be done, as has been OBVIOUSLY demonstrated it can be.  You just have to be important in America to get something done. IN some ways America is now no different than Brazil and every other third world country. The citizens are not important, only the important people matter and only their needs and wishes are what are acted on.

Why would we want to make him feel sick? I have nothing but respect for him in that, once he realized that Sean was not the only child in Brazil, he never missed an opportunity to advocate for the rest of us. Even after getting his child back, he continues to try to bring attention to the problem.
