Author Topic: BSHF Approved by IRS for tax-exempt status!  (Read 903 times)

BSHF Approved by IRS for tax-exempt status!

Last week BSHF submitted, with the assistance of our attorneys at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, our Form 1023 application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS. We expect to hear back from the IRS in approximately 3-6 months. If we are approved, all donations to BSHF will be considered tax-exempt, retroactively, back to the date of our incorporation on March 2, 2009.

We expect to provide more updates on our progress in the near future. Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work and support.

May I ask what the donations are used for ?
 Of course I have read alot on here but probably not even 50% so i appologise if its mentioned and hope someone can point me there if it in fact os there .

We haven't spent any money raised by BHSF yet and to be honest, our focus has not really been on fundraising to date so we don't have a lot of cash in the bank. I think there are a lot of good things we can do with any funds we raise and our intention is to set up a LBP fund at some point. We'll have more news on all of this in the weeks to come.
