Brazil - What's Going On Here?
« on: March 15, 2009, 10:18:14 AM »
I visited Brazil many years ago and found it to be a wonderful place with many friendly people.  Our family had hosted a Brazilian student through the American Field Service (AFS) program.

I can not believe what is happening here - and I can not believe the Braizilian government has not intervened to rescue this kidnapped boy long ago.   I think we need to send a message to all Brazilians - we, the people of the United States, will not tolerate this act of betrayal and we support Sean's father 100% here.

I'd urge all Americans to not travel to or visit this country or to buy any goods or services from Brazil.  I'd also urge anyone who has business dealings in Brazil to tell their business colleagues this is unacceptable.   If you can allow a young boy to be kidnapped in plain sight and do nothing to fix this, then this is a country we should have nothing further to do with.

I'd urge the strongest action by our President and our Secretary of State as well - talk but be very stern.

This should not be America vs Brazil.  There are many wonderful Brazilians who are speaking up for David and against the unjustice that he has been handed.  The Brazilian Government has gotten involved and I applaud them for that.  I think instead of boycotting Brazil we need to stay united and continue to educate them on the Hague Convention Treaty.  We need to continue to band together and continue telling the truth.  It is working IMO, you can tell by the way that Bruna's family is behaving now and many Brazilians seeing them read right through them.  I have faith that Brazil is going to do the right thing, opening up the door for many more left behind parents.  If they do not do the right thing then yeah I would boycott for sure.  Just my 2 cents :)

This just makes people so angry, they want to take it out on the Country itself.  The Brazilian people are great and we don't want to punish them and it is not their fault.  It is the Governments job to make sure this boy gets home, now.  No more crap with their courts.  Enough is enough.  I believe the people of Brazil are angry about this as well and feel very strongly that Sean belongs with his REAL father her in the US.

No, I have no dogs or cats lol I am an optimistic person and with the United States government putting so much pressure on the Brazilian government I hope and think they will do the right thing.  If Brazil does not obide by the Hague Convention treaty it is not going to look good to more countries than just the US.

SHITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brasil did a great advance since 1968. But this progress is quite lazy because of some corrupted people and because people like you, PauloGustavo, who have this "uncitizenship" behaviour and do nothing besides complaining and cursing your own country.

Do something for your/our country and stop with this kind of speech.
