Today is Sean Goldman's birthday! Sean is already with the person he loves most.  As time presses on, the likelihood that Silvana will ever get him back diminishes.  No foreign court can make Sean leave his true parent.  Relax, David.  Time and Sean's affection are on your side.

Anale,
It did stop on me one time, but I was able to watch it on the 2nd try.
The video played nicely to me, without breaks.

There is one thing that I still don't understand. Why people insist that the Ribeiros is a "powerfull Brazilian family"? They are not powerful, if they were Sean would still be down here. Sure Silvana knows a lot of influential people in the city of Rio the Janeiro and JPLS and their lawyers were skillfull in exploiting the several legal breaches that the Brazilian Law system have, and keep Sean here. But once the case gained international attention and it was moved from the Family court jurisdiction in RJ to the federal level, their so-called influential power was over. Tostes (another anonymous name for the vast majority of Brazilians) just kept fighting to the highest level (STF) - and lost.

Rio is just a touristic city, but far from represent the country as a whole. The Ribeiros (a very common surname here, btw) are just another well-situated family, but not more than that. They are not that powerful, or influential, or pulling the strings of the system. This is to give them credit that they don't have - and don't deserve.

Well, just my $0.01...

I think that if you'd ask David, he would tell you that his ex-inlaws are rich and powerful, and Brazilians know that money is power.  Those families get away with things that normal families don't.  Maybe it wasn't so much Nona's family, but the family that Bruna married into in Brazil (Lins e Silva) is.  They kept David and Sean separated for years lying to the courts and getting favors from friends in the Justice and Political system in Brazil.

But you don't need a truckload of money and/or political connections to accomplish about the same. A very competent lawyer can obstruct a case for years, without having to bribe a judge or call the help of a friend politicians. My wife's family has some good lawyers (including a retired federal judge) and discussing the case with them I was told that Tostes and JPLS were considered good but not exceptional lawyers. So I still think that attribute great power to them is giving them publicity and credit they don't deserve.

And I put my case to rest.

My response was to your question of them being a powerful family or not.  You are, however, correct that a competent lawyer can delay the process, but in David's case there was more.  This family called in favors from thier political and judicial connections.

I, too, rest my case.

David was truly the "David" in this David v. Goliath fight.  He and his young, inexperienced but TENACIOUS and BRILLIANT team of lawyers never gave up.  Yes, the other family has more resources and probably figured David would be forced to give up, but David had right and luck on his side.  I am sure the LeS family has suffered backlash both from people who think they should have fought harder, and from people who think they should not have been fighting in the first place.  They lied, they caused anguish to innocents, they broke laws, and eventually they lost.  Karma, as they say, is a witch (with a "b")
