Tech Support - Question
« on: February 25, 2009, 10:43:11 PM »
Every time one clicks on the forum link and clicks on the subject they want to read about or comment, instead of being able to read the latest comments one has to go to the last page every time. Could you make it so you'd read from most recent to last? I think it would make more sense and it would be more helpful.
Thank you,

Trust me I've been operating Message Board Forums for +10 years, reversing the order of posts would create a firestorm of complaints. The system is designed as a thread of comments for people to read in chronological order so they can follow along. Reverse order makes it totally confusing.

Anyone can use the "Forum Tools"  or "Thread Tools" to subscribe and receive instant, daily or weekly automatic updates by email.

You can also use RSS feeds for both the Forums and Blog.
1: Mozilla Firefox - you should see the RSS logo on the far right side of the URL address panel. Just click and subscribe.

2: Internet Explorer: The orange RSS feed button is normally next to the Home button. If its not showing on your PC simply go the Forums main page, then select from the IE menu, Tools > Feed Discovery > bringseanhome.org.

3: Apple Safari: same as Firefox.

By the way I work on both PC's and MACS; on both I use the Mozilla Firefox browser. It is a thousand times better than Internet Explorer and Safari. Plus its faster and can be totally customized with different themes and hundreds, maybe thousands of plug ins. Best of all its free! http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

Bob, I'm new to forums in general. Is there a way to report abuse here? What's with the "valium no prescription post"?

That was a "spammer" they are all over the place. I installed a list of 1,650 known spammers email addresses and 300 IP numbers into the database but they are hard to keep up with. They multiple faster rabbits or a better analogy is they are harder to eliminate than cockroaches.

Most of the spammers are actually hackers and one should NEVER click on a link they have posted. Your PC may be get infected by a Worm or Virus.

Unfortunately most of these hackers are from Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation, Korea or China and register in the middle of the night. Once they are 'exposed' we not only ban them but also ban their email address and IP number so they cannot easily re-register.

That small red triangle is displayed on the right hand side of each post in the green top border. To report a post just click on it and an email is sent to the Administrators and Moderators.

Tech Support - Question

It seems that after a period of time, we lose the ability to edit our posts. After seeing that you can add pictures to our posts, I wanted to put pictures up for my case as well as Reilly's and Birotte's. However, I can't get in any more. Is there something that I should do or is it something you need to do?

On the other Forum I operate you can edit a post within 5 minutes.
Here, I've set the system to allow you to edit your posts for up to 60 minutes.

If you want to add pictures or make a change after the time is expired you will need to add another post.

This is a security measure, I am really "pushing the envelope" here by going to 60 minutes.

If you write a post with a horrendous error that needs to be changed email me through the Contact Us link below or send a Private Message to username JMP. There are only two people (JMP & I) that can override the Edit settings. Please note that we do not monitor the Forums or Blog 24 x 7 so you may have to wait. I get an automatic email each time someone posts in this Forum but I get about 750 emails a day. :(

Hi Bob,

As I did my minute of silence today, I felt very drawn by the image in the picture of David hugging Sean while he was holding a football, while visiting down in Brazil. They both looked so connected and so happy! Are we allowed to have that picture on the site? If yes, I wonder if it is possible to have it pasted under my invitation to hold a silence/positive thought for them everyday at 7 p.m.. A visual image truly helps us to focus on what we want to envision. Thanks.  :D

I believe that picture was taken by Congressman Smith. I'll contact his office.
