return to Canada
« on: January 25, 2011, 10:00:01 AM »
Hi everyone, Lucas will be back to Canada w/ the mother on March 21st...  Mother is saying that he doesn't want to go back and he cries, etc...  I guess it's a normal reaction since he has been in Brazil since October 2004... First few months should be tough but my hope is that given that I went many times to Brazil to visit it should facilitate his adaptation.  Also, when he came here last July our relationship was wonderful.

This is great to hear!  Yes - I am sure there will be some tough moments, but he will be where he belongs, with two parents to help him through the hard times.

He will be fine!  I'm sure he's looking forward to coming.  I kind of doubt it's true, I have known mothers who have used this ploy to get out of sending their child to the fathers for the weekend.  Unless he cries to you on the phone about it, I wouldn't worry!  Even IF he did, it's perfectly normal.  Just have fun like you did before and everything will be fine

This picture was taken in Montreal in July 2010 (was his first trip here since the abduction)

I'm sure once he's back in Canada again that he will have many happy experiences like that to take pictures of :-)

The picture reminds me of Sean climbing all over David in the pool.  He sure looks happy with you.  Lots of good luck to both of you.

He was supposed to be back in Canada on the 21st.  Do we know if that happened?

Thinking of you Francois!  Hope you are able to spend some much needed time with your son.
"Every parent who has a child and they tuck him in at night, or her in at night, and they wish the best and only the best and they will always protect the child and do whatever they can, but most of the time they don't have to prove it. I'm in the proving grounds, to myself and to my child.  I have to get him home and I will do whatever I have to. I'll never stop to save him."  --David Goldman

Hello all ! Lucas has arrived in Montreal March 21st with his mother !  He is with me about 40% of the time since his arrival and our relationship is simply awesome !  I went skiing with him last week-end and he told me "Pai hoje é o dia mais marivilhosa de todo minha vida !" (Dad today is the most beautiful day of my life).... Thanks so much to all for support during those years !
