My understanding is that we are waiting for the Supreme Court to publish its decision after holding their hearing on the case March 9th, 2011

You can find some updates on Dhanika's website:

I pray for a just decision. The DR courts are plagued with scandals. Problems with the DR’s legal system seem overwhelming. Fake Lawyers are common. President Leonel Fernandez stated that 90% of criminal cases taken to court go unpunished. The Supreme Court president, Jorge Subero, instructed the overseer entity Judicial Council, to investigate the judges who've been accused of irregularities in the judicial district. Hopefully these investigations will lead to a better and more efficient legal system.
To Gabriel and Isabel: "Whatever you grow up to be, you will always be my children. I will always love you no mater what happens."
