You seemed back then to be in a lot of pain, and I can't even imagine how you feel since all these years have gone by without Sean. I have been following your story on the news and the internet and was very hopeful until this past week, when things took another turn for the worst. I wanted to reach out to you to see what I can do to help. I have a son myself and his father has not made an effort to be part of his life. So, when I see a father trying so hard to reunite with his son, it breaks my heart. I'm sure so much of your time is involved with legal hurdles so I am offering my time to help write letters to all the email addresses listed by previous responders, research any information you need, if you need to spend time in Brazil I will be willing to help with whatever you need done back here in NJ. I am just learning of it. I cannot imagine being separated from my children. I remember it being an huge issue with my mother, when I married someone from another country. She was afraid of the person abducting the children and never returning. It does happen. I feel so badly for David. What was the mother thinking? I cannot imagine! I cannot fathom the idea of removing my children from their father. But, I have to admit feeling very badly for Sean. He is now torn between two families. I can't help but wonder how he is feeling inside. I wonder if the reason the step father has done what he has, is because Sean, being a little boy, is devastated at the possibility of leaving the only home he knows. No matter what the rest of the world is saying and doing on his behalf, this is the only reality he knows. His mother did a terrible thing. And now, his life is torn apart and he has to suffer a second time, by possibly be taken from a second home that he knows and loves. This time, a home that he has been in even longer than the first. This time pulled away from the only person he knows as father (that is the reality). His mother is dead. He has lost her. He knows this, he feels this. It must be horrible for him. I wonder what he wants? David is an heartbroken adult. But, Sean is so young... I wonder if it is the heartbreak of the child, that has prompted his step-father, to go all the way to the supreme court. We see David a lot. We sympathize with him. But, we haven't heard little Sean speak. I hope the end result is one that makes both father and son happy in life. Legally and morally, it is wrong what has happened to David. He has lost his son.
